I think I mentioned this on Friday but today starts the official #FitStreak started by Allison @ Running Through Red Lights! I was too excited to wait for this to officially being though so I started on Thursday when she first talked about it
If you want to join in and see the official “rules” jump on over to check out this post. You don’t need a blog to participate (twitter or facebook is all!) and you only need to workout for 20 minutes a day and it does not need to be intense. (+ it’s just 30 days) I am planning for one day a week to be really low key and do some pilates or yoga. So even a short walk or bike ride would count. Oh by the way, there are PRIZES!!!!
Last week my workouts looked like this:
Monday: Walk(s) + 5 mins Upper Body Weights
Tuesday: Yoga
Wednesday: I cannot remember for the life of me what I did this day…
Thursday: Yoga + Core
Friday: Rest + Lunchtime walk about
Saturday: 10 mile bike ride + Full body weight circuit
Sunday: Tae-Bo Ultimate Boot Camp + 20 mins Pilates + Yoga with Sister
I also have a new toy that is going to make this Streak a lot more fun! I took the plunge yesterday and purchased a road bike! I still feel very clueless about everything to do with cycling but I am already loving it! I had a hard time falling asleep last night because I was so excited. Clearly I need to get out more but whatever! I even got talked into cycling shoes and clip in peddles. This could result in some interesting experiences as getting the shoes IN the clips is so much harder than I thought possible…

The new bike! Do you name a bike? I still remember I had named my old bike when I was a kid, “Priscilla” ha!
It’s supposed to be quite hot today but I am hoping to get out and ride for a little while later on this evening. It’s going to be hard to resist, that’s for sure! I know I have not been THIS excited for running in a very, very long time so this seems to be just what the doctor ordered. Plus it does not seem like biking will aggravate my leg issues or back issues that I am currently being plagued with. (Fingers crossed!)
So anyways, I apologize in advance that this blog may be cycling heavy for the next few weeks until I can actually run again! Cycling is going to be my saving grace from going crazy when I can’t run!
Want to join in the streak? What are you planning to do to stay active today?
