How is it possible it is Monday again already? It’s actually a Monday I am not minding though because I am currently sitting in the living room, watching Lost with Sister because be both took vacation/recovery days after the race this past weekend. I didn’t run a ton this past week but here is what I did manage to do…
Tuesday April 24th – 4 miles. I ran these miles pretty slow and steady with the plan to recover a bit more for the upcoming half marathon. I didn’t wear my watch so I have no idea what I really ran but I am pretty sure it was 4 miles based on the route I know and took me about 40 minutes to finish.
Thursday April 26th – 3 miles. I really should have run further this morning but I also wanted to have as fresh of legs as possible for Saturday. I ran this 3 miles a bit faster to make up for the lack of distance and averaged about 8:32 for the pace.
Saturday April 28th – 13.1 miles. This was no ordinary run of course, it was the Nashville Country Music Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon! I really miss Tennessee already and especially miss the weather there! 80 degrees might be a bit hot to run in but it sure is nice for sitting outside!
Definitely not the level of mileage I should have done with three weeks until Marathon Day but my legs are feeling really rested and my aches and pains are pretty much gone so hopefully in the grand scheme of things, this turns out to me OK timing. I have one more week to get in three hard runs and then 2ish weeks to relax and keep running to a minimum to let the taper set in. Can’t believe the big run is getting so close!!!
