Another week is over. 118 days until the Marathon… this is real! And is going to be here before I know it. I was bored this morning so I was looking up race recaps from last years participants and it sounds like they had horrible winds and it was rainy and cold… great… but maybe that means this year will be better? Here’s to hoping!
Running this week was cold. Not gonna lie… I am so ready for spring! But I didn’t let that stop me and was still stupid enough to run, and run outside, and for a really, really long time on Saturday…
Monday: Easy Run – 2 Miles. Because it was really cold, these 2 miles were anything but easy… I didn’t take my watch because there is a two mile loop around the school by my house and I just looped around that. But even though it was cold, I still finished and this run could be checked off the training plan list!
Wednesday: Speedwork Run – 4 miles. 1 mile warm up, 1 miles at 8:28, 800m jog, 1 mile at 8:28, 1 mile jog. Again this run was SOOO cold! And I actually correctly used my watch for this on accident! I hit the lap button when I was supposed to be doing my 800m jog and that let me see the actual paces of the parts of the run instead of being messed up because of the 800m slower pace in the middle.
Mile 1: 10:46
Mile 2: 8:21
Mile 2.5-3.5: 9:05
Mile 3.5-4: 10:59
As you can see I hit the mark for the 1st speed mile but the second one was slowed down a bit because I was THAT cold. I was REALLY happy when this run was over… I want it to warm up so much
Saturday: Long Run – 14 miles (10:34 pace). Check and check! I am now over half way to the distance of a marathon! Too bad the second half is the worst half Hopefully the next long run will be a little less snowy and a bit warmer. Always wishful!
And since it has been driving me nuts to post on a Monday and also run on a Monday but not post about that Monday’s run, that Monday… I am going to start going from Wed-Monday for my “week” if that sentence even made sense!
Monday II (today!) Oh my wind! I didn’t go for my pre-work run this morning because it was raining pretty bad but then by the time I got home from work, the wind had picked up to something fierce! I managed to finish 2 miles in 17:18 (8:20; 8:56) which included walking backwards breaks to TRY to catch my breath… I am still choking on something?!?! And have not been able to stop coughing since I got back! WTH! This run really took my breathe away I am seriously considering purchasing a treadmill with my tax refund money this year…
