Today was an off day. Actually, I have kind of felt off all week. My stomach has been extra persnickety this week and nothing I have been doing has been making it any better… until today… Today I told myself I was not going to eat anything unless I 100% absolutely felt “in the mood” to eat it. Well, that meant I did not have my usual “healthy” breakfast of oats and nut butter (instead, eggs and a bagel, I don’t even LIKE eggs for breakfast…) and I didn’t eat anything respectable for lunch (see fro-yo and fries pictures below) or dinner. But now, for some unknown reason, I feel 100% better! I guess in the future, I will just need to listen to my cravings and follow through with them and hope they don’t lead me astray for too many days – cause I do need to have my Spinach Smoothies, right sis??
A new self-serve fro-yo place opened up just 15 minutes from my house… better set a rule about needing to bike to get there or something – lol!! This could end up costing me a lot of $$…
In other news, I got a VITA-MIX blender and I am sooooo excited for my first smooth green smoothie tomorrow!!! Totally random that I would procure this kitchen appliance today as I was bored this morning at work and was online comparison shopping the Blendtec and VitaMix blenders. Well… based on the reviews I read and the various blogs I read that promote the VitaMix (Mama Pea, Edible Perspective, Daily Garnish), I decided this was probably my best bet. I was actually even thinking about placing my order online this morning but then decided to just wait until next week. Then, my luck took a turn for the better! I had my work picnic this afternoon at the Wisconsin State Fair and my sister and I decided to take a tour around the expo portion of the fair. As we were walking in, I even said to the Sis, “Do you think they have Vita-Mixs here??” Well, lo and behold, we walked around the corner and there they were!! Needless to say, that was the easiest sell the stand had for the day. I pretty much walked up and said, “I’ll take one, please!” (especially when I found out that the grain grinder was FREE!!!) So excited but so much for a free trip to the state fair

Yes, people, I am carrying a blender through the state fair and yes, I am having my picture taken with it.
I seriously am going to have a hard time falling asleep tonight, knowing this little guy is sitting all by his lonesome in the kitchen… Maybe that will also help me run extra fast tomorrow too?? We shall see!

We are not biking through the ghetto. Sorry.
Well… maybe we will find a less ghetto-y route??
